Panoramas have been created probable the next day after the invention of photography. Moreover, in middle of XVIII century the camera obscura had been used in Europe and with this instrument artists drew landscape and architectural panoramas. The well-known Italian artist Antonio Kanaletto (1697-1768) had painted thus the beautiful panoramic views of Venice. In the Library of the Congress, in the photography hall there is the big section devoted to the panoramic photography, its history and development up to our days
